When I was around 16 -17years old, a pastor spoke a word over me saying, "You will be an evangelist for God, but I see you as a pencil." I never thought much of it until recently, when I came across a story, giving five qualities of pencils.
1. A pencil is capable of great things, but it must never forget that there is a hand guiding its steps. WHOEVER WE ALLOW TO GUIDE OUR LIVES WILL PAINT OUR STORIES IN LIFE. I PRAY THAT it will be God that is the guiding hand who leads us in writing our live stories. (Psalms 139:15-16)
2. A pencil needs to be sharpened from time to time. The pencil will have to suffer a little, but it becomes much sharper after. We must learn to bear certain pains and sorrows, because they will make us better people. Wait upon the Lord and He shall renew our strength. (Isa40:31)
3. The pencil always allows an eraser to rub out any mistakes. It's human for us to make mistakes and correcting mistakes is not necessarily a bad thing. Jesus is faithful to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 Jn 1:9)
4. What really matters in a pencil is not its exterior, but the graphite inside. Always pay attention to what is happening inside us. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. (1 Jn 4:4)
5. A pencil always leaves a mark. Everything we do in life will leave a mark, so be conscious of our every action, pressing towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:12-14)
At the end when the graphite is left with the last iota, may we find that stories of greatness has been penned, beautiful pictures has been drawn/expressed, and most importantly may the pencil understand that it is not his graphite but the Hand that guides the graphite has spoken and drawn its legacy....

Good News
Monday, November 30, 2009
The phrase "good news" has the original meaning of the word gospel, which comes from the Old English godspellor good spell, meaning "a good story" or "good news." For Christians, the good "spell"—the great story, the wonderful news—is that Christ's death and resurrection have saved us from the bad "spell" of sin and death: Those who believe in Jesus are free and forgiven and will spend eternity with God. That's the gospel.
Telling people they're messed up and are on the losing side is not good news, no matter how you spin it. It may be true, but it's not helpful if you don't tell the important parts of the story, too: that the forces of darkness are not going to have the last word, that the rightful King has returned, that the Kingdom will be restored. Then the hearers can wrestle on their own with whether or not they'll choose the winning side, the side of the King.
"Jesus traveled throughout Galilee teaching in the synagogues, preaching everywhere the Good News about the Kingdom." Matthew 4:23 NLT

Embrace Your Moment....It makes a difference!
Friday, January 30, 2009
Hey all, my boy has finally gone back to school after taking away his cast.
One of the most heart warming and precious moments i have with him is whenever i went to fetch him from his school.
Without fail he will dash to me and give me a tight hug, crying out loud, "Daddy! Daddy! you come to fetch me ah??!!!"
Well, others around may think how fortunate is Javier for his Daddy to come and fetch him.
However, the most fortunate one is none other than me! Look, how many years will a boy has for him to show such affection?
Hugs like this get lesser when he grows older. I would not want to miss all this moments like this!
So whenever we think that children miss out big time in the absence of their parents, maybe it is time to think otherwise, we may miss out big time if we keep our absence from these little ones....
A man once said so well to us that if you miss out any of the little ones you miss out the biggest thing on these earth
"Whoever accepts this child as if the child were me, accepts me," he said. "And whoever accepts me, accepts the One who sent me. You become great by accepting, not asserting. Your spirit, not your size, makes the difference."

HAPPY MOO MOO YEAR! ( That's what Ja has been saying cos his playhouse disney channel has been singing that!)
Just had my reunion dinner.. What a refreshing time for me to have the opportunity to catch up with all my family members together under one roof!
This year, our conversations have been hovering around the current global financial crisis..
For us as chinese, this year is the year of the OX.. We were just saying that for the past 2 cycles of the previous OX years namely 1997 and 1985, there were also recession and financial challenges going on in the economy..
Along the journey back home, I was reminded that we can believe for MORE when it seems to be scarce. Cos we don't depend on the year of OX but we depend on the real OX in the bible! And He is none other than JESUS! And we can face this year with great courage that whenever we lift up His Name, we can always believe for a MOOre MOOre Year!
Let's keep believing that THERE IS MORE!
